You probably know already that nutritionists recommend the regular consumption of extra virgin olive oil as part of a balanced diet, as it is rich in anti-oxidants, vitamin E, vitamin K and healthy fats. But did you know that beauticians also recommend it?

Olive oil is good to prevent split ends and for conditioning dry hair and give it a soft texture and beautiful shine. It is also great against dandruff and to control chaotic hair frizz, and it can do marvels to moisturize dry skin and to strengthen nails!

Elle magazine wrote about it a few years ago, when a few high-profile cosmetics companies launched a range of olive oil-based hair and skin care products. But the hair and skin care benefits of olive oil have been known for centuries by the Mediterranean populations.
